"The town is just a tourist scam for beach goers. For people going hiking from Scopello in the off-season, it was a necessary stop, but next time I'd still prefer to camp in the nature or walk even further to Custonaci as the town is clearly just a mass-beach holiday tourist destination. For example, build a walking track as an alternative to the road from Marcari as it is very unpleasant to walk next to the big street with cars driving way to fast, especially when it is later at night. Still 100% fine with people in Sicily selling overpriced stuff to stupid tourists who only want a beach holiday and nothing of culture, but could have been a nicer destination for hikers, climbers or other people interested in culture if it was less oriented to mass-tourism. "

"Thanks for asking about cleanliness, that’s a real thing in Sicily, but castellamare was the cleanest place. Also the people were very friendly, and with the little Italian I speak I exchanged more than some smiles with the local (small shop owners). "

"Abbiamo soggiornato in uno degli appartamenti di Palazzo Taormina, e per prima cosa vogliamo ringraziare il proprietario per la gentilezza e la sua disponibilità. Nulla da eccepire sull'appartamento che era pulito e completo di ogni confort, specialmente la cucina era dotata di tutto, la biancheria che ci ha fornito abbastanza pulita. Grazie e a presto......"

"Ein netter Ort mit vielen Bars und Lokalen. Flanieren an der Promenade und durch die Altstadt. Und nur kurze Entfernung zu den Sandstränden in der Nähe. "

Ai Gradini also offers the chance to park right in front of the structure. Castellammare del Golfo is quite strategic to deepen Western Sicily, being half way from Palermo and Trapani provinces. It offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the area and many restaurants, pizzeria and sicilian street food specialties"

"Castellammare del Golfo è una splendida cittadina accogliente e piacevolissima che io adoro sia d'estate che in altre stagioni. Certo, d'inverno naturalmente ci sono meno attrazioni e ricezioni turistiche disponibili ma rimane sempre il calore delle persone che ti fanno sempre sentire a casa. Cibo eccezionale, localini ben serviti e graziosi, prezzi contenuti. Durante questo ultimo soggiorno ho anche gradito molto gli addobbi natalizi e le bancarelle artigianali. Alloggiare nel borgo del castello é stato molto emozionante. Si consiglia un po' più di attenzione alla manutenzione delle strade, alle indicazioni stradali spesso assenti o forvianti e alla pulizia fuori il centro storico perché si vive anche nei dintorni e si osservano anche i contesti "non turistici". Grazie per l'attenzione"

"Castellamare is a nice town, but I have some suggestions for the city authorities: in my opinion it would benefit greatly if the street near the marina was closed to car traffic.Moreover, the pedestrian access from the town to the Plaja beach should be more safe and somehow made to look aesthetically pleasing.When it comes to transport, a much larger number of connections, especially on weekends, until the end of October."
